-ISRAEL-

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 24, 2008, 11:46 AM
On May 14th, I'll be leaving for a two week trip to the Holy Land. From the 14th-30th, I'll be traveling all over Israel, taking as many pictures as I possibly can.
You can see my journey via a blog I created for the purpose of updating friends and family back home as to what's going on...

Spring Cleaning

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 14, 2008, 8:40 PM
Upon looking back at the photography that I have done, and have previously been satisfied with, I realize that I don't really like any of it. Sure, I was enamored with some of my shots, but for the wrong reasons. I was taking photographs of beautiful things, and mistaking that for beautiful photography. My artistic decision-making was severely limited by an inadequate knowledge of how to use my equipment and my mind together to produce a photograph.
I moved most of those sub-par deviations into my scraps, and I intend to only upload work I think is a good representation of the kind of work I want to do as a photographer.

1st contest...

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 15, 2007, 8:48 PM
I entered my first photography contest ever, and got an Honorable Mention for my piece. The photo also won the "People's Choice" award, which wasn't decided on by the panel of judges, but by the votes of everyone who went to the show.
Its a satisfying feeling, especially the PC award; I managed to somehow take a picture that not only was I satisfied with, but other people were able to appreciate as well. That ribbon is a manifestation of one of my goals as a photographer, a goal that until now has gone unfulfilled.
